Jan Bodh

 

The program seeks to evolve a community based effective and sustainable model that ensures universalization of equitable; quality education for disadvantaged urban children with stress on appropriate transformation of mainstream education system. Its objectives are:

  To ensure equality, care and education of all children and appropriate      learning support to left out  adolescents in slums/educationally deprived localities of Jaipur City.

   
  To build and consolidate integrated socio-systemic environment and     partnerships for childcare and schooling.


  To understand the nature and extent of the phenomenon of      deprivation in the urban context with specific reference to Jaipur City.

 

 To support partner organizations/institutions in their education  endeavors.


  To enhance Bodh's institutional capacity for effective implementation,   development and sustenance of the programme for appropriate  quality  education.
 

The strategy for the exercise is opening 75 additional schools (Jan Bodhshalas) in areas with large un-served populations over the next three years, establishing preschools and Centers for adolescent girls in the same, undertaking teacher training and building capacities of the Bodh Resource schools to act as centers for mainstreaming innovation into the adjoining areas. It is expected that enrollment in the Bodh schools is likely to increase to 3100 in three years. 230 Adolescent girls will also be involved in the program. This would require 102 additional teachers and 10 mother teachers.
