In the recent years Bodh has undertaken a series of Educational evaluations and Baselines as part of its own program, as well as for other organizations. Since child development does not occur in isolation, an attempt is made to provide an integrated holistic view of the whole gamut of institutions affecting the child’s development and school performance. This includes the family, schools, Anganwadis and community. Community awareness and involvement is emphasized. The extent of people's readiness to undertake problem solving – in terms of resource mobilization and utilization are investigated with special emphasis on education.  We ensure that principles of equity and gender sensitivity are respected through concerted efforts to ensure representation of all concerned persons and ensuring gender sensitivity during interviewing. A special emphasis is placed on the needs and current facilities of the crucial and hitherto neglected groups- preschoolers and adolescent girls. The attempt is to develop an understanding of the nature of their eco-cultural context with a view to provide appropriate facilities to ensure that they are linked with the educational mainstream. While undertaking an investigation of the educational institutions, an attempt is made to develop an understanding of the current curriculum, pedagogical practice, classroom processes and school atmosphere as a first step towards improving the same.
