    About the Project- Multigrade classrooms and learning deficits of the students of the previous grades are some key challenges of the education system. The challenges become much more difficult and real in respect to the mainstream system. To address these challenges, a programme named Shiksha Setu is being implemented to work with the students with basic literacy and numeracy deficits by means of pre/post school remedial programme and evolve concrete strategies and materials for bridging the gaps by means of ongoing implementation in an action research based manner. The project would be implemented in the government schools by means of fellows (part time), recruited and trained by Bodh.

    Responsibilities-

    • Coordinate the fellows academically by giving feedback on their work, evolving and organizing materials and reviewing the work done.
    • Remain in close contact with Dr. Jalaluddin ( giving academic coordination to the programme) to share progress and get guidance in respect to planning and action.

    About the programme: In the light of the RtE Act’09 and the National Curriculum Framework’05, a quality reform in the name of Continuous and Comprehensive Assessment (CCA) was agreed upon to be implemented across the nation in all the schools. Bodh has been chosen as the resource agency to work on the assessment design and effective implementation to bring about a whole school transformation. The Programme started in the year 2010 with a pilot of 60 schools and is now being scaled up in a phased manner. This is the third and the final phase of scale up in which the scheme design will reach around 41000 schools and teachers will be trained on the assessment design and the needed change in the classroom processes.

    Key Responsibility areas-

    Programme planning and implementation:

    • Management and coordination of the overall programme activities of CCE in the state
    • Understand the programme goals thoroughly and prepare annual, and subsequently monthly and daily plans for all the districts of the state along with the district coordinators
    • Participate in, and provide guidance to the district coordinators in preparing their own monthly district plans in accordance with the other districts
    • Make regular visits to the programme area to understand the implementation on the ground and take required action for improvement
    • Gauge the needs of the programme and organise timely Review and Planning Meetings with the district teams
    • Support overall field operations (i.e. regional meetings and workshops, visit coordination, workshop planning etc.)
    • Work closely with the MIS and Documentation team to ensure on-going stock-taking of the programme implementation

    Liaising and network building:

    • Help in constituting, organising and convening state, district and block committees to obtain support from, and build capacities of Government officials

    About the programme: In the light of the RtE Act’09 and the National Curriculum Framework’05, a quality reform in the name of Continuous and Comprehensive Assessment (CCA) was agreed upon to be implemented across the nation in all the schools. Bodh has been chosen as the resource agency to work on the assessment design and effective implementation to bring about a whole school transformation. The Programme started in the year 2010 with a pilot of 60 schools and is now being scaled up in a phased manner. This is the third and the final phase of scale up in which the scheme design will reach around 41000 schools and teachers will be trained on the assessment design and the needed change in the classroom processes.

    Key responsibility areas-

    • Ensures effective planning, implementation and monitoring of the project at district levels (consolidated)
    • Ensures working closely with the state team of government (SSA, SIERT) along with UNICEF in order to ensure quality planning, review and decision making at the state level.
    • Takes responsibility and accountability of the work done by the zonal coordinators and provide guidance to them in effective implementation of the programme.
    • Organizes and manages detailed documentation of the programme.
    • Visits schools strategically to evolve an independent understanding of the implementation status of the project, along with understanding it by means of different monitoring processes.

    Programme planning and implementation:

    • Management and coordination of the overall programme activities of CCE in the district
    • prepare monthly and daily plan of activities based on the programme objectives and in accordance with the other districts coordinators plan
    • Make regular visits to the schools in all the blocks to understand the implementation on the ground and take required action for improvement
    • Determine the academic needs arising in the schools of the blocks, addressing them and arranging for timely support in the form of workshops, meetings
    • Support overall field operations at the district level (i.e. cauterization, regional meetings and workshops, visit coordination, workshop planning etc.)
    • Ensuring Monthly data collection based on the MIS needs derived
    • Gauge the needs of the programme at the district level and flag the need of timely decision making in consultation with the programme coordinator, programme manager and the director

    Liaising and network building:

    • Help in constituting, organising and convening district and block committees to obtain support from, and build capacities of Government officials
    • Work closely with DIETs and District core committees to enhance their understanding of the reform and provide handholding support in undertaking capacity building initiatives to support the block teams.
    • Encourage and undertake joint planning and monitoring exercises at the district and block level
    • Building rapport with the district level officials, and build their understanding on programme objectives through continuous dialogue, workshops etc.
    • Liaising with all the internal units of the organisation to ensure timely information dissemination for smooth implementation of programme activities
    • Liaising with all the public private stakeholders,
    • Maintain constant dialogue and communication with the programme Manger and coordinators of different districts to be on the same page

    Documentation and reporting

    • Determine the best practices in schools across the district, and bring them to the notice of programme Manager
    • Submitting daily reports to the Programme Manager based on the pre-determined objectives for the month
