Pedagogy

 Bodh aims to provide quality education to deprived children and evolve an appropriate school education system. Such a system is characterized by:

 

*      Interactive classroom processes

*      Activities that use the inherent capabilities and potential of the child

*      Teacher child relationship based  on  child's needs and rooted in context within and           out side the family.

*      Teaching learning processes sensitive to folkways of learning.

*      Freedom of pace of learning.

*      Schooling encored in community participation.

*      Non-graded learning strategies (peer learning included).

*      Stress on pre-tested sound pedagogical practices.

 

This involves continuous refinement in the realm of curriculum, based on  experiences of teachers in the classroom. This is done through:

 

*      Daily planning and workshops (tri weekly, half yearly and annual)

*      Discourse  with  communities and  ensuring their participation  in  the   process of         curriculum refinement and transaction.

*      Experiences of educational renewal.

*      Research  on  pedagogy and school  practices and  best practices   in the  field  of         education.

*      Work of eminent educational philosophers like Tagore, Krishnamurthi and Gandhi.

 

Documentation of curricula at the pre-school, primary and upper primary levels has been undertaken. Curricula for preschool education, Hindi, Mathematics, Social Studies, Music, Drama and Art have been finalized.
